Meet the Writers
We’re two college students chasing business degrees, big dreams, and maybe a decent GPA along the way. From balancing lectures and late-night study sessions to figuring out how to stand out in the competitive world of internships, we’re sharing the ups, downs, and all the lessons we’re learning on the path to becoming our family’s first generation of business leaders.

Hi, my name is Jayden Phan, and I’m currently a student at De Anza College with plans to transfer to a 4-year university to pursue my business degree. I am passionate about learning how finance, entrepreneurship, and personal growth connect, and I am using these college years as an opportunity to build the skills, gain new experiences, and network in order to prepare me for long-term success.
Beyond academics, I enjoy both creative and active hobbies. I love solving puzzles, playing basketball with friends, and finding new places to explore. I’m always looking for opportunities to learn, collaborate, and embrace the process along the way. To me, every part of college, whether it’s lectures, late-night sessions, internships, or campus events, believe that every step in college, from lectures to late-night study sessions, and from internships to campus events, contributes to shaping not only who I am today but also the person I aim to become.

Hi, my name is Miguel Estrada, and I’m currently a student at Merced College with the goal of one day starting my own company. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, and I am using these college years to build the skills, experiences, and network that will prepare me for success.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking, exercising, and growing my relationship with God. I am always looking for ways to learn something new, collaborate with others, and enjoy the process along the way. I believe that every step in college, from lectures to late-night study sessions, and from internships to campus events, plays a role in shaping who I am and who I want to become.
